Sascha Appelhoff and Andy Holtin overlap their distinct practices in a collaborative project. Appelhoff’s Stages, a body of work in which forms are extracted from planes with as much economy of shape and material as possible, shift between model and monumental through Holtin’s perceptual interventions.
Last Ditch
Last Ditch was founded in Los Angeles by Hannah Hughes in 2020 as a mobile artist’s collective, to create exhibition opportunities and provide mutual support. “When you are in the ditch, there’s nothing left to do but sing.” (Samuel Beckett) We participated in four High Beams parking lot shows throughout 2020-21. Our last project for High Beams #4 held in Torrance July 17, 2021 was an installation by Daniel Cummings.
HilbertRaum
HilbertRaum opened in January 2015 in the middle of Reuterkiez in the heart of Berlin-Neukölln. Behind HilbertRaum is a group of 18 Berlin-based artists, who take turns curating and organizing two-week exhibitions throughout the entire year. Our projects cover a broad range of art, from painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation, screenings, lectures to performance. HilbertRaum is named after the infinitely dimensioned Hilbert space, a concept developed by the mathematician David Hilbert. To us, it represents an open, undetermined and evolving structure of self-organization with the expectation of the unexpected.
