About

This show features artists wading through the material afterglow of political and environmental dissonance. The figurative work of Jim Ovelmen and Thomas Whittaker Kidd and the fiber works of Kata Unger, Mariam Alcantara and others are woven together in an imagined timeline of fever-dreams, delusions, and traumas inside imagined cultural wastelands.

Horse & Pony & Xanadu

Horse & Pony & Xanadu are partner spaces in a non-commercial, artist-run project space located near Körnerpark in Neukölln. After several years of renovation and use as a studio space, carrick bell and Rocco Ruglio-Misurell began programming the space in the fall of 2013. The mission of the space is to provide artists and curators with a space for experimentation and development, as well as to facilitate creative exchanges with other project spaces. We encourage people to work outside their typical modes, leading to artist-curated projects, and exhibitions and events that wouldn't otherwise find a fitting exhibition venue.

After eight years operating as a single project space, Horse & Pony, in 2022 we launched Xanadu, a space for artists’ moving image work, as a second programming track sharing the same location. Drawing on the history of microcinemas as spaces for idiosyncratic, artist-led, and community-oriented presentations of moving image work, Xanadu is one of the only artist-run spaces in Berlin dedicated to artists’ moving image work.
