About
Love, heat, sweat, tears is the first of three exhibitions dedicated to the amplitudes of human emotion. Everything between passion, fear, and lust will find its expression through the extraordinary selection of international artists and offer the audience an honest and intense impulse to enjoy and reflect.
The starting point of this journey will take place at roam projects in Berlin-Kreuzberg, a nonprofit organization focusing on the art and cultural exchange between the eastern parts of Europe and Germany. As an official partner of the European Capital of Culture Tartu/ South Estonia 2024, the selected artists have been a part of the long-term residency and exchange program between Berlin and Estonia and, therefore have their roots in the latter.
Wonzimer Gallery explores the international exchange with emotional works from their diverse roaster of Los Angeles and Lava from Mexico city based artists to discover the connections and dissonance that exist between these worlds of art. With selected work that touches upon the rollercoaster of modern life as well as the calm moments in between
roam projects
roam projects e. V. is a non-profit Berlin based association founded in 2022 and active since 2020. The association’s goal is to set an example against the dynamics of gentrification and to be hereby openly critical of outdated and unsustainable structures in the art market and cultural landscape.
roam projects e. V. engages with international protagonists of the free and independent art scene by strengthening transnational connections, having a primary focus of Eastern Europe. The association manages residencies, exhibitions and a variety of art projects both in roam project space in Berlin and abroad and, by this, creates an open art and cultural exchange.
Wönzimer
Wönzimer, which means living room in German, is a place where everyone is welcome. These ideals are indeed the foundations upon which Wönzimer thrives and lives. Wönzimer is interested in unique voices from all different backgrounds to inspire and question the world we live in today.
Lava
Lava is a platform for transversal encounters between research, management, and curation of artistic practices located in Mexico City. Our objective is to carry out curatorial projects with artists who wish to conduct research on contemporary art aimed at alternative exhibition formats. The annual program consists of art exhibitions, curatorial support, study circles, and experimental projects. We conspire together with galleries and independent spaces to bring our projects to a physical space.
At Lava, we aim to develop projects to sow the futures we want to inhabit and to be aware that we are sentient beings sharing the world (or times/spaces) with other beings. In this way, we aim to generate initiatives that foster empathy for environmental care and the socialization of planetary crises through aesthetic, eco-critical, and collaborative practices.
